Units of Study
9/5/14
Second Grade:
We just finished a unit on bridges. This unit involved researching famous bridges. We also created a bridge using straws and straight pins. We used the information we learned about how to build a strong bridge in our design. Our bridge held 5 pounds!
We are also learning about figurative bridges. We are almost finished reading "Charlotte's Web". In this book a friendship was bridged between a pig and a spider, an unlikely duo.
Third Grade:
Our third grade unit incorporates social studies. We are learning how to effectively read both fiction and non-fiction books in order to retain the information that we read. We are learning how to paraphrase, take notes, and ask questions as we read. Our culminating activity will be to teach our assigned branch of government to the other students in our class.
